 I’d not met Kacey or Tony before, and it was my first time as Dewsall Court wedding photographer . I really had no idea what to expect. I like a surprise so I didn’t ask too many questions about cake cutting or first dances. All I did was turn up early as I had an inkling I’d need some extra time. I won’t write an exhaustive review about Dewsall Court, but suffice to say it is in my list of top 10 venues and I can’t wait to return their next month for another wedding. Kacey and Tony got married outside, I can’t use enough descriptive words about how much I love outdoor weddings. I even got married outside myself – so you know I’m not fibbing! But there is just something amazing about an outdoor wedding ceremony. I know it’s tough in the UK what with the whole ‘unpredictable weather’ thing we have going on over here. One of the good things to come from a quiet time of year is that I finally have time to catch up on my blogging! Today we’re heading back to Jacky & David’s wedding. They got married at St Mary’s Church before heading on to Southend Barns wedding venue. They lucked out with a beautiful day in August which ended with the prettiest of sunsets. It was my first time at Southend Barns although Jacky and Dave found me through a recommendation from this wedding at Upwaltham Barns. Not only did they have a fab Cadillac wedding car their little dog attended the wedding ceremony. Looking at these wedding photos now quickly brings back all the memories of the day. Walking along Clevedon Pier whilst eating ice-cream is one of my favourite memories of Jen and Kurt’s wedding. I’ve been to a few great weddings at Clevedon Hall but I haven’t yet been lucky enough to visit the pier. The old wooden boardwalk makes for some great photos and it’s certainly a wedding venue with a difference! Whilst we were only there for a few hours before heading to Clevedon Hall for the wedding reception it was a real highlight of the day. You might remember Jen and Kurt from their engagement photos at Castle Combe. Whilst the weather on their wedding day was a little touch and go we had fun in the sun and also got some beautiful photos in the grounds of Clevedon Hall.  Time to take a trip to sunny Tuscany now for Katie and Matthew’s Villa Podernovo wedding! The couple love Italy, especially Matthew who is an architect. It’s no wonder Katie and Matthew chose the magnificent San Galgano Abbey as the location for their wedding ceremony. Situated twenty-five miles west of Siena, the ancient ruin is almost seven hundred years old. I’ve been there twice before and it was great to be back! Getting ready for their Villa Podernovo wedding Katie and Matthew were super relaxed. Matthew is Australian and there were a few subtle nods to that throughout the day. See if you can spot the eucalyptus leaves in any of the photos. Katie’s stunning wedding dress from Made With Love Bridal was also Australian. Doing Umbria wedding photography at Nicola and Andy’s wedding was SO much fun. First of all it was great to return to do Borgo Bastia Creti wedding photography for a second wedding at this Umbrian wedding venue. Going there for the second time meant that it was a little less stressful. It looked just as beautiful as it always does and photographing their wedding was a dream (apart from the hot hot weather!) My top three moments of the day start off with Nicola and Andy exiting to the the rice confetti. An Italian wedding tradition and one of my favourites! Lots of fun, great to photograph but if you stand in the wrong place it’s a little bit painful (I like to be kept on my toes!) Their guests didn’t hold back and the rice went everywhere.  You’ll love this post, St Giles House wedding photography in the winter! AJ & Daniel had an amazing wedding with two ceremonies. One secular and also a Jewish ceremony with more family and friends attending. My top three moments of the day start with the Jewish band and the evening dancing. I can’t get enough of these photos and they were well worth having my toes stomped on! After Daniel finished his wedding speech everyone headed to the drawing room for some wild dancing. You’ll find an image or two from this in my updated 2019 portfolio (coming soon!) My second favourite thing was seeing a few familiar faces from other weddings I’ve been to. Guests from Louisa & Jez and Jemma and Tom. Even if it was just to say a quick ‘hi’ it’s quite fun to see people again, although I’m not sure many of them recognised me! It will brighten your day for sure! In the 18th Century this was the place to be seen, the centre of Bath society and where the beautiful and rich partied. Today as a wedding venue The Assembly Rooms are still one of the most stylish and elegant in The Cotswolds. Bath isn’t home for Sara and James, but the bride was at Uni in the city. So it was a natural choice to host friends and family, many who had traveled from South Africa where James is originally from. The quintessential Britishness of Bath and its cobbled streets are hard to resist. Plus are a great backdrop for getting the best wedding photos.
