 If you’re feeling the January blues,(it’s pretty hard to remember what the sun looks like at this time of year) then take a look at Sara and James’ Wedding at The Assembly Rooms Bath wedding venue. It will brighten your day for sure!




In the 18th Century this was the place to be seen, the centre of Bath society and where the beautiful and rich partied. Today as a wedding venue The Assembly Rooms are still one of the most stylish and elegant in The Cotswolds. Bath isn’t home for Sara and James, but the bride was at Uni in the city. So it was a natural choice to host friends and family, many who had traveled from South Africa where James is originally from. The quintessential Britishness of Bath and its cobbled streets are hard to resist. Plus are a great backdrop for getting the best wedding photos.

Getting ready, there’s was time for the bride to catch up with girlfriends and family. Sara chase a classic lace dress by Enzoani and looked stunning! Arriving in a classic car Sara managed to keep her cool, even when the infamous Bath traffic delayed them en-route. All part of the fun! The ceremony under the giant chandelier in The Assembly Rooms was perfect. Definitely a few tears of joy shed.

Afterwards everyone spilled out onto the gardens by the famous Royal Cresent for music, ice-creams and canapés. A perfect summers day! At the reception there were SO many great speeches. Plus some really cool details, loved the childhood photos and donuts. Fuel for dancing in the evening, which was pretty spectacular!

My favourite photo from the day is the one of James, alone, happy, by the table of donuts finally being able to have something to eat!

 My family photography style is just like my style for weddings – natural, fun and colourful. Being a dad myself I know how quickly little ones grow up and so family photos are priceless. I’ve had several family shoots myself and they mean the world to me. My photos are printed out large and hung on the walls. It’s the facial facial expressions and the unique characteristics that make them them. So I’ve found the best way to take photos is to let the little ones roam free outside where they can explore and have fun. Whether it’s splashing in muddy puddles, kicking a ball or riding bikes the more fun they have the better.
