I’m really lucky to do Hyde Barn photography every year — it’s a really cool little venue in the Cotswolds. Lucy and Gareth’s wedding was one to remember. Their hard work with amazing styling detail really paid off and the beautiful light we had was the icing on the cake. I met these two a few months before the wedding for an engagement shoot and it was great to get to know them a little better before the big day. I was ultra enthusiastic because I love outdoor weddings. I remember feeling pretty nervous about the weather as it can go any way in June!  With the weather decidedly frosty and chilly this week let’s rewind to May this year. Here is Alex and Liz’s Gaynes Park wedding in the beautiful Essex countryside. I first met Liz when she was a bridesmaid at Caro and Ed’s Nonsuch Mansion wedding . So it was great to see some of the same faces again. The weather on that particular day in May was sunny and warm. On a clear day you can apparently see the skyscrapers of London from the wedding venue. It was my first time photographing a Gaynes Park wedding and it did not disappoint. Liz wore a stunning lace dress by MirrorMirror. Her bouquet which was super fresh and stylist was by LukeandLottie. Gotta love peonies in the Spring! The ceremony held at the barn was wonderful.  This post has been a long time coming but I’m happy to share some Manor By The Lake wedding photography with you from Emma and Nathan’s wedding. They got married in the spring so it was great to see the blossom was out! Along with friends and family they had their super cute children with them for the day. They obviously made it in to quite a few of the wedding photos, because, as you’ll know although weddings are mainly about the bride and groom family is so so important. Getting to know them as a family before the day was really nice. They had an engagement shoot which turned in to a bit of a family shoot. I’m proud to say that they liked the photos so much that Emma bought her sister and her family a shoot too! I don’t do too many family shoots but I really enjoy them, and especially ahead of the wedding it’s great to hang out and find out what is important to people before the wedding day. Mel and Dan’s wedding at the Elvetham Hotel made my year way more enjoyable. Booked in January I photographed their wedding on a sunny day in September. They got married in the little church of St Thomas More before travelling to the Elvetham Hotel for the reception. Their friends and family bombarded them with confetti when they arrived and it was such a nice afternoon. My first time visiting the Elvetham Hotel. A beautiful venue in Hampshire with lovely gardens where guests enjoyed drinks and plenty of spots for couple photos. If that wasn’t enough we had some great light at sunset and the staff were lovely. One of my favourite memories from the day was the family owned MG which was used as the wedding car. Since photographing weddings I’ve developed a love of MG cars and I now keep an eye on auto trader just in case one pops up in my budget (unlikely!)
