 Time to take a trip to sunny Tuscany now for Katie and Matthew’s Villa Podernovo wedding! The couple love Italy, especially Matthew who is an architect. It’s no wonder Katie and Matthew chose the magnificent San Galgano Abbey as the location for their wedding ceremony. Situated twenty-five miles west of Siena, the ancient ruin is almost seven hundred years old. I’ve been there twice before and it was great to be back! Getting ready for their Villa Podernovo wedding Katie and Matthew were super relaxed. Matthew is Australian and there were a few subtle nods to that throughout the day. I seem to visit this cake shop quite a lot! It’s very instagramable and looks amazing in photos. That said there is often a queue out of the door so visiting it out of season, or at the end of the day is wise. The Belgravia district is also a nice spot for London street photos. I’m really lucky to do Hyde Barn photography every year — it’s a really cool little venue in the Cotswolds. Lucy and Gareth’s wedding was one to remember. Their hard work with amazing styling detail really paid off and the beautiful light we had was the icing on the cake. I met these two a few months before the wedding for an engagement shoot and it was great to get to know them a little better before the big day. I was ultra enthusiastic because I love outdoor weddings. I remember feeling pretty nervous about the weather as it can go any way in June!  With the weather decidedly frosty and chilly this week let’s rewind to May this year. Here is Alex and Liz’s Gaynes Park wedding in the beautiful Essex countryside. I first met Liz when she was a bridesmaid at Caro and Ed’s Nonsuch Mansion wedding . So it was great to see some of the same faces again. The weather on that particular day in May was sunny and warm. On a clear day you can apparently see the skyscrapers of London from the wedding venue. It was my first time photographing a Gaynes Park wedding and it did not disappoint. When make-up artist Jessica asked me to photograph her wedding to James at The Frogmill wedding venue in Gloucestershire, it was a huge complement! We have worked together quite a few times over the years. Jessica is super talented and artistic, so I knew she’d be all over the wedding details! Plus, I was the wedding photographer for her sister Olivia (and Ollie) last year (another amazing day!). Who is a wedding planner! So the perfect choice to help organise the big day. Adding to the excitement, the Frogmill wedding venue is brand new. So I couldn’t wait to see what it had to offer.  This post has been a long time coming but I’m happy to share some Manor By The Lake wedding photography with you from Emma and Nathan’s wedding. They got married in the spring so it was great to see the blossom was out! Along with friends and family they had their super cute children with them for the day. They obviously made it in to quite a few of the wedding photos, because, as you’ll know although weddings are mainly about the bride and groom family is so so important.  My first time doing Lains Barn wedding photography and it was truly so much fun. From my first zoom with Alis and Jamie I knew it would be a cracking wedding to photography. They had a huge wedding party, mini golf, amazing cocktails and a stunning backdrop. I didn’t have any expectations of Lains Barn (no offence!) I try to approach everything with a bit of an open mind. But I can honestly say it’s a cracker of a venue and here is why. Great spots for couple photos and lovely outdoor space. Whilst it’s not a particularly large wedding venue it has loads of charm and character. I love how everything is arranged around the grassy area, it has a really cosy feel. Favourite moment of the day would be the speeches! Oh yes, the best men dropped some bombs.  It was great to do another Humanist wedding in Bristol and visit a new venue in No.4 in Clifton Village . Julia and Baz kept things pretty low key with close friends and family but it was an awesome celebration to capture. With little portrait sessions in a few of my favourite spots in Bristol as well as two little ceremonies and two big chances for confetti! They also had a first look by the Clifton Suspension Bridge which was pretty special. Capturing the first look whether it’s at the cermeony or somewhere more private is always fun. Next they headed in to Bristol for the legal duties at Bristol registry office. As a Bristol wedding photographer I’m fairly used to the local registry office and we took a few photos in the centre before resuming couple photos around the fairer backdrop of Clifton.  As I do quite a few pre wedding shoots in London I often get asked about the perfect locations. Well, to start with I’m going to talk a little about the timing. Last time I googled London has a population of just over 8 MILLION people. That’s a lot. Not to mention the tourists which flood the streets in the summer and autumn… So timing plays a part on pre wedding shoots. With sunrise and sunset being the best times – or the quietest times with the best light. I tend to schedule London pre wedding shoots for week days, because as you might imagine the weekends are chaotic. With that in mind here are my top 10 locations for London pre wedding shoots. St Paul’s Cathedral It’s pretty rare that I come to London and don’t stop my St Pauls Cathedral. It’s an iconic building in London (with an amazing history.)
