Almonry Barn Wedding Photographer - Albert Palmer

It was great to be an Almonry Barn wedding photographer again at Vicky & Phil’s wedding at this cute little venue. I’d met Vicky before at Emily & Aaron’s wedding where she was a bridesmaid. Vicky and all of her bridesmaids were amazing to hang out with and gave me a warm welcome when I arrived. Vicky wore an amazing flowercrown made by Cottage Flowers, how amazing does she look? Phil almost forgot to wear his belt! I’d not met Phil before the big day but he was a pretty colourful character. As Vicky walked down the aisle he turned and loudly said ‘hello beautiful!’ The funniest moment happened during the vows when the registrar asked Phil to ‘repeat after me.’ He literally said ‘repeat after me…’ It broke the ice, and while I hadn’t witnessed anyone so bold before his friends and family thought it was pretty hilarious. All I know is it made taking wedding photographs quite a bit easier! I wasn’t sure how she would react but all was well and she smiled. As an Almonry Barn Weddi...

Gaynes Park Wedding — Albert Palmer

With the weather decidedly frosty and chilly this week let’s rewind to May this year. Here is Alex and Liz’s Gaynes Park wedding in the beautiful Essex countryside. I first met Liz when she was a bridesmaid at Caro and Ed’s Nonsuch Mansion wedding . So it was great to see some of the same faces again. The weather on that particular day in May was sunny and warm. On a clear day you can apparently see the skyscrapers of London from the wedding venue. It was my first time photographing a Gaynes Park wedding and it did not disappoint. Liz wore a stunning lace dress by MirrorMirror. Her bouquet which was super fresh and stylist was by LukeandLottie. Gotta love peonies in the Spring! The ceremony held at the barn was wonderful. Lots of laughter and a few tears. So my three top things from Alex and Liz’s wedding. First has to be the shot of the best man dropping the wedding ring. One of my favourite shots of the year. If you have one job as a best man… Second the grounds at Gaynes Park ...

Umbria Wedding Photography - Albert Palmer Photography

Doing Umbria wedding photography at Nicola and Andy’s wedding was SO much fun. First of all it was great to return to do Borgo Bastia Creti wedding photography for a second wedding at this Umbrian wedding venue. Going there for the second time meant that it was a little less stressful. It looked just as beautiful as it always does and photographing their wedding was a dream (apart from the hot hot weather!) My top three moments of the day start off with Nicola and Andy exiting to the the rice confetti. An Italian wedding tradition and one of my favourites! Lots of fun, great to photograph but if you stand in the wrong place it’s a little bit painful (I like to be kept on my toes!) Their guests didn’t hold back and the rice went everywhere. My second favourite moment… not gonna lie, the food was incredible and I was really well looked after by Nicola and Andy and the staff at Umbrian wedding venue. Honestly, it’s not the only reason I love destination wedding photography but it is a p...

Euridge Manor Wedding Photography - Albert Palmer

Kicking off today with the very best Euridge Manor wedding photography from Simi and Bieni’s big day. They were an amazing couple to work with and I’d been looking forward to returning to Euridge Manor for a LONG time. The photos just do not do it justice. The wedding venue is absolutely stunning and the scenery makes my job as a wedding photographer a little bit easier. A massive shout out to wedding planner Gabi from A Flair To Remember. She was great to work with all the way up to and after the wedding day. It was a whirlwind from start to finish and with so much going on coordinating it all must have been a LOT of work. For springtime, we had amazing weather. The sun gods just keep on giving in 2022 and to be perfectly honest I am extremely thankful! I could have taken photos there for days but sadly the sun did set, and after that we retreated inside. They had a beautiful personal church service at St John the Baptist Church in Colerne. Shout out to the vicar who could not ha...

Outdoor Wedding Ceremony Coombe Lodge - Albert Palmer

Not my first time as a Coombe Lodge wedding photographer, it was great to return to this beautiful wedding venue. Just 20 minutes from my front door I know it pretty well now and love it particularly for it’s outdoor wedding ceremonies. Sarah and Will’s wedding was a particularly memorable wedding from last year. Partly because they bought along their cute little dog who had a great time and almost stole the show! I got to work with many of my favourite local Bristol vendors, namely Kirsten from The Little Wedding Helper and The Rose Shed florist. Cakes by Samantha baked a beauty of a cake and the Sarah’s (memorably) stunning gown was from Carina Baverstock. Will’s suit hire was from Jack Bunney. I also worked alongside Ray McShane Videography. Being completely honest I have a very vague memory of Ray even being there. However that can only be a good thing and speaks volumes about his reportage ninja skills. Top work Ray! As I mentioned, I love visiting Coombe Lodge, especially w...

Pre Wedding Shoot in Florence — Albert Palmer

My first   pre wedding shoot in Florence   and we couldn’t have asked for better weather. Florence was flooded with beautiful spring light all day long. Getting up for sunrise was well worth it. Carina and SY didn’t take much persuading and it totally paid off. Photographing a couple on Ponte Vecchio has long been on my bucket list cool locations of places that I’d like to do a pre wedding shoot and it totally paid off. We also visited the famous Uffizi gallery in Florence before anyone else arrived. We took some stunning photos in the morning light because white vans and tourists arrived on the scene. It was one place Carina suggested we go and it ended up being one of the best spots. I’m not quite sure how I managed to be creative at 6am but the photos speak for themselves. Carina changed from a pink Vera Wang gown in to a sparkly black ball gown. They both looked incredible and as we walked around Florence. Whilst we moved from one location to the next they got all s...

The Frogmill Wedding - Albert Palmer

When make-up artist Jessica asked me to photograph her wedding to James at The Frogmill wedding venue in Gloucestershire, it was a huge complement! We have worked together quite a few times over the years. Jessica is super talented and artistic, so I knew she’d be all over the wedding details! Plus, I was the wedding photographer for her sister Olivia (and Ollie) last year (another amazing day!). Who is a wedding planner! So the perfect choice to help organise the big day. Adding to the excitement, the Frogmill wedding venue is brand new. So I couldn’t wait to see what it had to offer. Set in beautiful Gloucestershire countryside, The Frogmill wedding venue is classic Cotswold style meets French farmhouse chic. With twenty-eight beautiful rooms on site there was plenty of room for Jessica and James plus family to get ready and settle in. I am always on the lookout for good light in new wedding venues. The light at The Frogmill was very easy to work with, even in the rooms where everyo...

St Giles House Wedding Photography

You’ll love this post, St Giles House wedding photography in the winter! AJ & Daniel had an amazing wedding with two ceremonies. One secular and also a Jewish ceremony with more family and friends attending. My top three moments of the day start with the Jewish band and the evening dancing. I can’t get enough of these photos and they were well worth having my toes stomped on! After Daniel finished his wedding speech everyone headed to the drawing room for some wild dancing. You’ll find an image or two from this in my updated 2019 portfolio (coming soon!) My second favourite thing was seeing a few familiar faces from other weddings I’ve been to. Guests from Louisa & Jez and Jemma and Tom. Even if it was just to say a quick ‘hi’ it’s quite fun to see people again, although I’m not sure many of them recognised me! Lastly I loved the ‘cave rave’ – with overhead LED strips it was a fun touch. It’s hidden away underground but was in nice contrast to the rest of the historic bu...

Assembly Rooms Bath Wedding - Albert Palmer Photography

If you’re feeling the January blues,(it’s pretty hard to remember what the sun looks like at this time of year) then take a look at Sara and James’ Wedding at The Assembly Rooms Bath wedding venue. It will brighten your day for sure! In the 18th Century this was the place to be seen, the centre of Bath society and where the beautiful and rich partied. Today as a wedding venue The Assembly Rooms are still one of the most stylish and elegant in The Cotswolds. Bath isn’t home for Sara and James, but the bride was at Uni in the city. So it was a natural choice to host friends and family, many who had traveled from South Africa where James is originally from. The quintessential Britishness of Bath and its cobbled streets are hard to resist. Plus are a great backdrop for getting the best wedding photos. Getting ready, there’s was time for the bride to catch up with girlfriends and family. Sara chase a classic lace dress by Enzoani and looked stunning! Arriving in a classic car Sara man...

Huntstile Organic Farm Wedding - Albert Palmer

It was amazing to return to Huntstile Organic Farm for Em and Rob’s summer wedding. They actually tied the knot nearby in St Edward King & Martyr Church, Goathurst. Although they got ready and held the reception at the farm. I’ve only ever previously done a Huntstile Organic Farm wedding in the winter – so it was great to see it in all of its summer glory. Right in the thick of the summer heat wave these photos take me right back to a time where it was too bright to open my eyes! Working in the heat was tough enough, but it was impossible not to get caught up in the vibe of the day. Rob and EM’s smiles were infectious! My top three things about their wedding start with the amazing sunset. Couple photos were a dream – just take a look at that sunset over the Somerset fields! My second favourite thing was the tractor that ferried all of the guests from Huntstile Organic Farm to the church. Can’t go wrong with a little Somerset tractor action at your wedding! My final favourite thing...

South Wales Pre Wedding Shoot

A South Wales pre wedding shoot on the beach with Will, Wai and their little furry friend! Despite the warm sunny feel these images have I can tell you it was windy and very cold! As they got married in the spring we did their shoot as close to the wedding day as possible to ensure warmer weather. Despite the cold we had some amazing sunshine which made the world of difference. I have been to this location before so I knew how good it would be. Will and Wai were absolute troopers – bringing some gorgeous outfits, big smiles as well as a little furry friend. I really enjoy pre wedding shoots , and it’s great to get to know a couple a little bit better before the wedding day. This South Wales pre wedding shoot had such an amazing location near a national trust property. I’d love to take my family there one day this year to go camping. It is SO beautiful and really not too far from Bristol. The beauty of it all is clear in the photos and best of all we had the whole location to ourselves....

Manor By The Lake Wedding Photography - Albert Palmer

This post has been a long time coming but I’m happy to share some Manor By The Lake wedding photography with you from Emma and Nathan’s wedding. They got married in the spring so it was great to see the blossom was out! Along with friends and family they had their super cute children with them for the day. They obviously made it in to quite a few of the wedding photos, because, as you’ll know although weddings are mainly about the bride and groom family is so so important. Getting to know them as a family before the day was really nice. They had an engagement shoot which turned in to a bit of a family shoot. I’m proud to say that they liked the photos so much that Emma bought her sister and her family a shoot too! I don’t do too many family shoots but I really enjoy them, and especially ahead of the wedding it’s great to hang out and find out what is important to people before the wedding day. Every wedding is different and a big part of my job is figuring out what is meaningful t...

The Dragons Gate Wedding Photography - Albert Palmer Photography

Anni and Hass were one of the many couples who had to change their wedding venue in 2020 and again in 2021. Luckily they secured the Dragons Gate wedding venue in Herefordshire, just over the border. As Wales weren’t allowing  weddings to take place they struck gold in my opinion! A beautiful spot with amazing views – I love this part of the UK and it’s not far from where I grew up. Also, I finally got to work with celebrant Zena Birch. I’d heard a lot about her from friends in the industry and it was great to listen to her lead the ceremony. One thing I found out was Anni and Hass used to be wedding photographers themselves! Part of me things ‘wow – they really know their stuff and they picked me! Go me!’ And part of me thinks, ‘oh boy – I better not mess up!’ But the wedding gods were with us and we were treated to a beautiful day with a sunset, pizza and everything! A few things I loved about their wedding were their friends and family. A super fun crowd to be around and no end ...

Lains Barn wedding photography - Albert Palmer Photography

My first time doing Lains Barn wedding photography and it was truly so much fun. From my first zoom with Alis and Jamie I knew it would be a cracking wedding to photography. They had a huge wedding party, mini golf, amazing cocktails and a stunning backdrop. I didn’t have any expectations of Lains Barn (no offence!) I try to approach everything with a bit of an open mind. But I can honestly say it’s a cracker of a venue and here is why. Great spots for couple photos and lovely outdoor space. Whilst it’s not a particularly large wedding venue it has loads of charm and character. I love how everything is arranged around the grassy area, it has a really cosy feel. Favourite moment of the day would be the speeches! Oh yes, the best men dropped some bombs. My favourite anecdotes were the WhatsApp messages Jamie & Alis sent their friends after their first meeting – it makes me laugh thinking about it even now! And that’s it. As ever, enough waffle – on with the Lains Barn wedding p...

Clevedon Hall Winter Wedding Photography - Albert Palmer

It’s been some time since I’ve been to Clevedon Hall! It was great to return for Sally and Jamie’s winter wedding and see the place again. I particularly love the grounds and we got the warmest winter sun. I knew it would be a ton of fun because Sally is a great photographer in her own right. She also works at a local bridal shop so has her thumb on the pulse of the wedding world. The day started in Thornbury with the ceremony being held in the local church. It’s an absolutely lovely church and their vicar was really nice! I’ve been to a few weddings there now and know all of the good spots. For the time of year, we could not have had more amazing weather. Sunlight at this time of year isn’t guaranteed but we got it all during the couple photos in the grounds of Clevedon Hall. I loved doing couple photos in the sun, it makes the world of difference and brings everything to life. One of the highlights for me was seeing Karen and James again! Sally’s cousin made the amazing wedding cake...
